Afrikana was founded in 2018 by Midlands entrepreneur Omair Ali with one clear goal: to bring African inspired home cooking to the UK high street in a way that had never been seen before.

After building experience with leading hospitality brands in the UK and the UAE, Omair returned home determined to create something of his own. The result was a concept that blends well-loved mainstream dishes with bold African flavour.

The first Afrikana opened in Aldridge and quickly built a loyal following. From day one, the energy was different. Vibrant, confident and full of personality.

Afrikana is about flavour, atmosphere and pride. It is a brand built on ambition and belief. What started as one restaurant has grown into something much bigger and the journey is only just beginning.
